SCHOOL BUS RIDE

The bus ride home from school every day used to be a nightmare.  It would be massively over crowded and the bus drove at an agonizingly slow pace that was utterly maddening.  In the winter, with everyone dragging the snow and slush with them up onto the bus, it became worse.  As you can imagine, given all the passengers were high school students, we got annoyed.  There was this upperclassman that wore a San Antonio Spurs coat that especially caused a lot of trouble.  He’d steal other people’s bags and toss their books around.  He berated and cursed out the bus driver all the time.  Sometimes, he even got into fights while on the bus.  He wouldn’t have an argument or anything with someone else, he’d just leap up, tackle them, and start throwing punches.  He got thrown off the bus more than once, but the bus driver always let him back on.  Apparently, he was never paying that much attention since he wore earphones while he drove.  Somehow, he always knew when to stop though.  I wanted to take another bus home, but there weren’t any others that went by where I lived.  I didn’t know anyone with a car and I didn’t own one myself.  My parents were always at work when I was getting out of school so what choice did I have?
